Superstition Community Food Bank: Golden Ticket + four travel packages

Superstition stacked a $100 Golden Ticket sale with four live-auction travel packages — Dublin, Fiesta, and Porto — for a layered fundraiser that worked at every price point.

Superstition Community Food Bank built one of the most layered nights HGA has seen — a Golden Ticket front-end, a raffle component, and a four-package live auction featuring Dublin, Fiesta en Mexico, and Porto. Auctioneer Brett Higgins ran the live segment.

The Golden Ticket sold twice — once raffled, once live for $4,600. Then Dublin sold twice at $4,500 each, Fiesta sold twice ($2,500 and $4,000), and Porto closed at $4,250. The result: more than $24,800 from travel packages alone, on top of whatever the raffle produced.

Why it worked

  • Stacking a Golden Ticket front-end against the live auction gave Superstition two completely different revenue moments in one night.
  • Multiple packages at multiple price points captured donors at every budget — Fiesta sold to one bidder at $2,500 and another at $4,000.
  • HGA's consignment model meant Superstition didn't pay a dollar for any package that didn't sell — a critical safety net for a food bank where every dollar has a job.

The Golden Ticket alone covered our entire reserve before the live auction even started.
